Preview: Bioshock 2

Bioshock is an amazing game that brings many new things to the world of gaming.  For those of you who have not played the first Bioshock game it takes place in an underwater city called Rapture created by Dr. Andrew Ryan to start his own society.  In this society they made plasmids which alter your genetic code and give you powers.  The main character is in a plane crash and finds this world and traverses his way through many problems and levels to escape and find answers only to reveal many twisted plots in the story.  This game is a creepy, first person shooter.

So now that there is a little bit of a background let us get down to business I am here to give a preview of Bioshock 2.  This game is going to expand on the first in that you return to rapture 10 years after the first one.  You return as a more intelligent big daddy with a free will which pisses a few people and things off.  There is the appearance of a big sister who has been going above surface kidnapping children to make them like her.  There is also the rumor that she is under control of a higher power which is definitely likely.  It is possible to return to parts of Rapture from the first one as well.

Bioshock 2 - Big Sister

This game will have a lot of new features from the first one, the biggest being the multiplayer which I was surprised to see wasn’t in the first one.  It is a rumor that you get to see rapture before the sea claimed it and then play parts of citizens of rapture.  There is the idea of earning points to level up and unlock more weapons, plasmids, and tonics as well.  Another feature is dual wielding of plasmidsma and weapons which is fricken awesome.  As a big daddy you get to use the drill, and rivet gun, along with some of the signature moves such as the shoulder dash.  There is also the option to leave the city and explore the sea around Rapture.

Bioshock 2 - Drill

This is just a little bit of what Bioshock 2 has in store for the players there is still a lot of information being kept secret so I guess only time will tell.  The first Bioshock won several game of the year awards and it didn’t even have multiplayer like Call of Duty and other games so what does that tell you?  This game is going to be mind blowing especially for the hardcore fans.  This game is going to be a game of the year nominee for sure if it is anything as good as the first one which I have no doubt it will be.

The expected release date is November 3, 2009.
