Review: Wolfenstein3d For Xbox 360

This is one of the main reasons why I love Xbox 360 arcade and that is because they bring back bad ass games like Wolfenstein 3d.  Xbox Live Arcade has brought back several of the famous old shooters like Doom and the comical Duke Nukem and now Wolfenstein 3d.  What’s next please say Doom II or Shadow Warrior?  These games are classic and fun to play and give you a trip back in memory lane.  Wolfenstein is what really started the whole shooting game craze that along with Doom.  These games were the center on controversy for many years and in some cases still are even though they are nothing compared to some of the game coming out today.  With all that said it still takes nothing away from the games they were simply beautiful in their time and are still a blast to play now.

Wolfenstein 3d - Gameplay

This game is the exact same as the computer version pretty much.  There is not a multiplayer mode which I figured they would have put one in seeing as Doom and Duke have both done this.  This game had brought a few new things into the wrap of Nazi killing craziness like money to buy upgrades for your weapons.  There are all six episodes in this game which means there are roughly 60 levels of good old fashion turn to aim shooting of 2d enemies in a 3d level.  This game has not added very much but it is still worth a measly 400 Microsoft Points.  If you loved any of these old shooter games I would say dish out the 5 dollars and download it because they are still fun to play.

I would say that the main downfall of this game is that I wish they would have added a map system because it is rather easy to get lost in the game’s levels sometimes.  Other than that this game is fun even though they did not put multiplayer in it.  This game is definitely worth the little bit of money it takes for hours of fun.
