It’s :) … Not (:

Ok, I understand this not something that should bother me, but it is, so I am going to tell you about it. Why all of the sudden is there this big surge of people typing their smileys backwards?

I have been using instant messaging and chatting online for over 12 years now and ever since the beginning of that time smiley faces have always been entered with the top of the smiley facing left.

For example:  =)

Within the last year, I have ran into about 10 or so people that type them backwards, (=, which I find freaking annoying.  The main reason being, at first glance I don‘t see the smiley, I see an open parenthesis and an equals sign for no reason.

I have been ignoring this for some time now, and I cannot help but say something finally.  So if you are one of the people out there on the Internet typing your smileys backwards, STOP!
