Preview: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Now for the most anticipated game of the year in my book other than Bioshock 2, Assassins Creed 2, and a few others is Modern Warfare 2.  For anyone who has played Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare they know that it is one hell of a game.  Great graphics, awesome game play, good story, and innovative additions to the gaming world like shooting through walls, calling in support, among a list of others.  Now for a game that has accomplished so much to have another game approaching this fall has created a lot of hype.  This game is supposed to take place sometime not too long after the first.  This game is solely one player throughout the story mode, but they are adding a Co-Op game much like Rainbow Six where you are a team going in to clean out terrorists or rescue captives; not much has been released on this yet.  The idea is that as you progress throughout the game you unlock other levels to play through in this Co-Op bonus game.

Not much has been released about online yet Infinity Ward has been rather secretive on quite a few aspects of this game.  I have heard rumors of up to 200 new weapons including the old ones from the first game.  Whether we get to use all of them or see some on enemies is another question.  Infinity Ward is taking gun classes and the most used customizations and adding them to the enemy’s inventory so you might end up seeing a custom gun you might have used.  There is talk of new perks like using more than one attachment for your gun, after getting your helicopter you start over with getting air support, climbing trees, among others.  There is pictures of vehicles in the story mode as for online I am not sure.  There are a lot of new additions in this game Soap comes back as a captain as a NPC, as for Captain Price he is a mystery as to whether he makes a comeback or not something tells me he will.

This game so far from what I have heard will take place in the Russian winter on an ice base which looks beautiful; also the game will take place in Rio de Janeiro Brazil.  In the streets of Rio there is talk of being civilians running around amidst fire so now there are more casualties to add to frustration.  There is also the discussion of destructible objects like power transformers, boxes, and things of that sort that blow up and cause damage to things around it.  They are supposed to update the bullet damage through walls and stuff like that.  The online hopefully will blow the first one out of the water.  I have a lot of faith in Infinity Ward and what they are capable of doing for this game.
